In 1991, SODETEL set up LIBANPAC which is the sole national packet switching X25 data network, legally authorized by the Lebanese state according to the presidentiel decree No. 4654 dated March 3, 1988.
Nine X 25 Concentrators are already installed in Lebanon (Justice, Jdeideh, Ras Beirut, Achrafieh, Hamra, Jounieh, Tripoli, Saida and zahle). A double digital grid links them together and insures maximum reliability.
LIBANPAC is connected to World Data Transmission Networks through Fiber Optic Links.
The Lebanese Administration together with France Telecom contribute to give to LIBANPAC network high levels of performance, protection and accessibility. LIBANPAC is a 24-hour service, with the latest high technical equipment and emergency back-up routing.
